Grout joints needed for granite tile countertop?

grout joints needed for granite tile countertop? I would like to up against each tile for a nice finish look without using the 1/16 joint. Would this be ok? Also, I bought this granite tile for $25 for 10 sq ft. is this a good deal? tx in advance..
