I can't stick to one race in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Help?

It sounds to me like you would very much enjoy an Altmer (High Elf) Mage, born under the sign of the Apprentice, since it will make you the best possible mage in the game, giving you much more versatility than either of the other two main 'types' of character (stealth-based and pure combat).
