Is this true about Esme Cullen...?

I heard from one of my friends that she secretly kidnapped a 14-year-old girl from school, but Stephanie Meyer doesn't say this in the book. And did she kidnap Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper, and Alice too? Is she really such a bad person that she would abduct a child who was only 14 years old? Sorry, I've just started reading Twilight, and I don't know much about the characters.
