Advice for a family moving to NYC?

People say if you make it any where it's in NYC (manhattan) but that's more for theatre and broadway, I live here all my life, if you want to do T.V. an dmovies, that Los Angeles is your choice. In mahattan you'll get extra background work, but the productions are all moving to Los Angeles and Hollywood the capital of the movie world
