Do you get alot of gifts from people?

my friend is always getting gifts and flowers, her rent paid and i don't know why. she isn't very pretty (not to be mean) and shes always whining about her problems..is she getting these things from people who don't want to hear it anymore or are people that gullible? i do know most of them come from people on the internet. im too embarred to air my problems
